Review on Nov 22, 2017-

Very less often you come across a place which has a theme bigger in thought. Sure, many restaurants function based on a particular theme and they go all the way to get things done in that theme. But not all are special. Last year when a friend told about a place in New Delhi where we’re served by waiters who’re deaf and mute I was surprised. To prove to me that it is one of the good places to go for food, he took me 4 times in 7 months and we all took a liking to its theme and taste. I even met the team who started it and appreciated their efforts. I suggested them to open Echoes in Bengaluru too as people here would love it. He told me that they are planning to open one shortly in Koramangala.

Fast forward 8 months I get a phone call from a friend telling about this new place which serves awesome food and always crowded. Yes, it is Echoes. I took my friends for a lunch and they loved it. They have set up a nice place in Koramangala 5th block spacious enough to accommodate large crowd. Food is almost same as in Delhi but few changes in the menu. Here they have a place for musicians too, organizing fun weekends. Try their fiery chicken, Amsterdam fries, baked portions of pasta and burgers are all good. I personally recommend you to try Ferraro Rocher or Choco death shakes. Good food and beautiful ambiance are what we all expect from any place. These people have got it.

I want to specially mention their system to interact with differently abled waiters and staff. It is genuine and won’t cause you any troubles to order your food. After you get into your table they’ll give you menu, order notepad and pen. You just have to look through your menu and choose things to order. Then write down the code against each dish and quantity. Write your name and phone number and give to waiter. To call them you can just press the switches near each table. They will come and take your  notepad. Everything is done in noiseless way which i like here. Echoes is very deep meaning word for the way this restaurant works.

Prices won’t burn your pockets so feel free to take your loved ones here for a meal or just to visit. I’m sure they’ll love it

Wishing them good luck, will be visiting soon.

AB’s is relatively new place in town which was dominated by another place with similar name !!
When my friend told me about it I initially thought it must be a mimic place of something else ! But boy was i wrong?
This cool place doesn’t show much from outside but you’ve to go in and be there to see and enjoy it. Very convenient to locate as it stands next to the main road in BTM layout coming from silk board and has signs written all over directing you inside. Staff are super friendly will help you find good seats. Since its a buffet feel free to ask them the process and they’ll explain to you. They have both veg and non veg starters to begin with but the coolness of the place comes later when you realize that they’ve a separate place for exotic foods !!
Yes, they’ve exotic food section where you’ll get shark, squid, octopus n what not ! The chef will help you choose and that particular exotic dish will come to your table properly cooked with right masala. We tasted many but liked shark and octopus mostly. After finishing you main course you can head over to their dessert section which has again something special for you. They’ve this option to choose your ice cream flavor which chef prepares specially for you.
Many restaurants serve food including exotic dishes but they wont make you feel special like this place. The feeling you experience here is worth your time and money. I suggest this over any BBQ places in Bangalore because of their customer service. Prices are similar to any other BBQ places but the satisfaction you get here is priceless. Don’t have second thought, just get in here and make yourself feel special. I’m definitely going back again.

Old bangalore has many places which still stand tall and are ready to tell tales if you’re willing to listen. Koshys is one such place where everything is special and has that old taste of history attached to it. It was in my bucket list form over 10 years but never got the time or company to visit. This time we made up our mind that we’ll have our sunday brunch here come what may be.
It is very easy to locate near MG road and Hard Rock Cafe but if you make a mistake and cannot find it then you can ask anyone coming near MG road metro station. Go early as possible because as time extends more people come in and you’ll end up waiting for your chance which may not come for quite long time. Everyone who comes here will have a plan in mind to stay for longer period telling stories of the past, doing business meetings, talking about previous weeks news etc.
They’re famous for their burgers and sandwiches so feel free to choose. Their meat dishes are famous too so if you’re here for lunch or dinner pick some pork vindaloo with rice or prawn curry.
Prices wont bother you so much so go ahead and visit this place asap because I’m going back soon.

After a long gap of 6+ months I’m back in reviewing !
Well, where to start.? Onesta has been my favourite pizza place from the time they opened or I started liking their pizzas in Koramangala. They used to take some time to bring my pizza but luckily now that system is changed. Didn’t know that they’ve opened this outlet so close to my place so found it by accident. Place is very well located so you won’t have to open your Google maps n follow it. Just come to Banashankari BDA complex n look up n you’ll find their big board welcoming you. Lift wasn’t working had to climb 3 floor which isn’t bad. I think they should get it operated soon. It’s big space so you’ll find good seats easily. Waiters are very helpful to choose your dish so don’t hesitate. Just ask n pick your pizza. We went for wasabi chicken, pineapple chicken n pepperoni pizzas with chicken tenders peri peri thing. Starter was bit hard or maybe it’s supposed to be that way ! I don’t know. But it was good. We changed our pizzas after ordering n they helped us out by personally coming n enquiring about it twice. Ambient light colours and designs are nice for everyone. Music selection was going with food. I deducted 1 point because their pizzas are small in size which means for a good foodie like me have to order 2-3 pizzas for a meal. But it’s okay !
Their prices are very competitive so you won’t have to feel that burn to your pockets. It’s non AC restaurant so no high GST pricing. Overall it’s good place for anyone to hangout with friends or partner in evening or for lunch. I’m definitely going back again.

Review on Feb 20, 2017-

Legendary place of old Delhi cooking recipes from the time of Mughals. That’s more than enough for me to search for it in busiest old Delhi streets n try their classic signature dishes. After reading many reviews here n also getting suggestions from people who had been here we visited this place. Very easy to locate near jama masjid because everyone knows about it n will point you right at it. Very spacious and you’ll find foreigners queued up here. Tried their mutton burra, mutton qorma and rotis. Burra is kinda skewered mutton with green chutney as side. It was cooked right amount and was filling too. Qorma although was good contained so many shreds of hard bones inside which made us constantly remove them n keep aside. That can be annoying if you’re in hurry or when you’re having it for first time. My suggestion for them is to clear the gravy for those sharp bone fragments which are too many to let go. Prices are nominal so you can visit there often. They don’t accept cards so make sure to carry cash. Overall it was a nice experience n I may want to go there again.

Although have been to social in Bengaluru, this turned out to be a good place n guess I’ll be a regular here. Location is very easy n in fact you get to know things because they’re near to this place that shows its spread as identity. On a busy Sunday evening we were very doubtful whether we might get tables here but staff are miracle workers. They conjure up places to accommodate you without making you wait for long time. Don’t try to sit outside in the smoking zone because they don’t serve alcohol there.I had a cold so started with Hot shoddy n this magic potion really worked n I was feeling better by the time I came out so I must thank the mixologist, then went on to try a game of sling, followed by pacific rim, 3 red wine sangrias, longest long island iced tea in electric flavour, even though in no mood to eat tried their potato wraps and chicken fracha to munch. Place is very much spacious, special mention is that DJ who was brilliant today, prices aren’t high compared to other places in CP so can visit anytime one wishes. Also another important thing I observed n want to mention is that they’ve a lady bouncer kinda woman who takes care of female customers n it’s good move. Hope pubs in Bengaluru also realize the sensitivity of the issue and appoint some women. Overall extremely satisfied and would love to visit again. Keep going people those who made it happen

Place in checklist from almost 6 months now. Previously we had been there, they refused to allow us because we were wearing clogs !! Yes. This happened to us and many of my friends said- bhai hum yaha nahi aayenge phir se!
But I’m not like that because I’m a hardcore foodie and believe when we’re in their turf we should obey restaurants policy so that others can have good time.
Anyway place was pretty empty on a weekday so got our entry (we were dressed for it this time). They’ve this system of digital connection button stand through which you can summon waiter and demand your needs( don’t know whether that actually works as we had to raise our hands to get their attention). I felt this method very useful for differently abled so kudos to the team which thought about this option.
Place is small but well planned and set. Wooden walls and cosy chairs give you perfect pub feel with a small stage where frequent live music is organised. Bar is very widely expressed and menu is exhaustive.
Ordered few beers with chicken nachos, Afghani chicken and wok fish fry for starters. Mutton rahra was delicious and of proper portion with roomali roti which was bit thick. Everything were cooked perfectly n flavoured with right spices. Congrats for the wonderful chef. Prices won’t burn your pockets so you can always visit this place whenever you feel like reaching for good food and good music. Definitely going back again.

Karnataka Food Centre

Review on Oct 15, 2015-

Some information first- It is not inside Karnataka bhavan, but it’s part of Delhi Karnataka Sangha building in rk puram.
Place is pretty small but accomodates all well. Perfect replica of any well maintained south Indian restaurants in bengaluru or other parts of Karnataka. Varieties of dosas, sweets, many breakfast items n sumptuous meals combos etc will make you drool. Food quality is as good as they say it should be. Very crispy masala dosas which reminded me of Udupi hotels in Bengaluru. Meal is more than sufficient for a person n tasteful. Ordered mysore Pak which was not so good. We expected it to be made with ghee n hence soft but it was hard so that’s one thing I’ll be avoiding next time. Other than that no complaints about anything. Prices are moderate but worth every penny. After food you can take a look at handloom section n museum next to this hotel. Totally worth your time n money. Definitely going back again.

Punjabi food is one of the best cuisines I’ve ever had in life. It’s because of their flavorful ingredients, carbs, quantity and that big glass of lassi at the end! This was recommended to me by a friend from the day I came to Delhi and have been their regular customer now. Delicious soft butter chicken, roomali rotis (which will be hot unlike other restaurants which send you cold rotis when you order food), murgh tikka garlic and tangdi are my favorites so far. Both biryani and fried rice (bit spicy) are delicious. Delivery options are very easy through call or zomato. I want to mention here that any delivery person will have only 1 motive in his head- just deliver food and go back. But when there are problems with address or ordering getting delayed n about tendering right change it becomes messy. So we can all make sure that it will be as smooth as possible. Prices are really friendly and place is spacious. So you may go here in person and try their menu as whole. Waiters will help you and will ans your queries. So feel free to ask. I’m definitely going to be a regular customer in coming days.

Interesting find in busy Khan market roads. Very well designed interiors which makes you feel comfortable. Chose rooftop n immediately regretted it. Although they’ve put some thought into designing it, I personally didn’t like the outdoor seating as much as interiors. Mixologist is darn good so don’t give a second thought about reaching to their cocktails first. I personally liked that absinthe one. Eclectic non vegetarian platter is truly eclectic. Snapper escabeche, must try Belgian pork belly which is slow cooked for 18hrs!! Chef is very good so have no complaints here. Staff are courteous n very helpful so feel free to settle down n talk to them n choose what you like. Afterall it’s the experience that matters n its a kind of place where you’ll want to go again. Prices are on par with Khan Market so needs no further explanation. I’ll go back again for some delicious food and exotic beverages.
